About the Floor

Laminate Flooring, Made for Your Home

Laminate flooring has a high-resolution photographic layer under a tough protective wear layer, bonded to a dense fiberboard core. It is designed to resist scratches, scuffs and fading.

Today’s laminates feature realistic textures that match the grain, so the look and feel are close to real wood. Many products are water-resistant, and click-lock installation floats over a quality underlayment.

Music City Floor brings laminate flooring to homes and businesses in Nashville and across 21 Middle Tennessee cities.

Questions About Laminate

Still have a question?

Call 615-357-7797

Is laminate waterproof?

Not completely. Many laminates are water-resistant and handle spills well, but standing water can damage the core. For bathrooms, basements and laundry rooms, waterproof vinyl plank or tile are better choices.

Can laminate be refinished?

No. Laminate cannot be sanded and refinished like hardwood. Quality products are made to resist scratches so that it keeps its look.

How is laminate installed?

Most laminate floats over underlayment with a click-lock system, so it is not nailed or glued to the subfloor. We prep the subfloor and leave expansion gaps at the walls, covered by trim.
